Weather & Snowpack: Sunday was the perfect combination of bluebird and a relatively cold day for Tahoe. In addition, it was several days after a great Alaska-formed storm delivered 3-4 feet of fresh, light powder along the Sierra Crest in Tahoe. Fortunately, the snowpack stablized very quickly despite the cold temps.
VIDEO TR: A nice video of the tour along the West Shore on Sunday.
Some additional photos from Saturday at Alpine follow.
BONUS SHOTS: On Friday during the storm, Alpine had not opened so Saturday was looking to be extremely promising. I arrived at the mountain at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning to ensure first chair. Number 2 didn’t show up for another 45 minutes or so. I was a little anxious…
We didn’t break out the camera for most of the morning, while trying to get as many good turns as possible. Around lunch we started slowing down and taking some pictures.
Jonathan silly deep on High Yellow Face. This is around noon. Not a lot of people going out there due to the tele comp on Keyhole.
Nick getting some more on High Yellow.
Such a great day. Couple more of me taken by Jonathan. Kept hitting High Yellow until we saw another person come out there with us… A special thanks to the blockade provided by the tele comp at Keyhole!
Jonathan down below Keyhole.
Enginerd out by Pond Rocks.
