Synopsis:
This past week, Tahoe got on average 6-7 feet of snow from Sunday-Friday. With Matt, Kenny and Dan in town for the weekend, we headed over the Alpine Meadows on Saturday to partake in some of the snow.
It was continuously snowing both Saturday and Sunday, so I only have few pictures from Saturday at Alpine.
After splitting up from Matt and Dan, Kenny and I found that for a 10 minute hike, High Yellow at Alpine was skiing/boarding amazing. With the wind and new snow falling, every run was essentially filling-in our previous tracks. Further, no one else seemed to be hiking all the way out to the summit of High Yellow, so we essentially had the face to ourselves the entire day.

We eventually found a really nice cliff that had a good approach and really good landing zones. The landing was the perfect pitch – steep enough that you could really keep speed up. Both Kenny and I hit the cliff and then hiked back up to hit it again until all the landings were bombed out.

Sequence of Kenny with a straight-up, no bend, no grab, awkward 360. All kidding aside, Kenny stuck the landing and it was pretty awesome. Photos: Nick.
All in all – a good day. I would add pictures of Matt and Dan, but they would just look like shots from a bar with a lot of heavy Chili consumption.
That’s better.
That being said, I would like to see bar/chili pics…..
I’m on the list serve for the non-blog? This is the best thing to happen to me in days. How often can I expect these?
Pending work, as often as possible.
^^^If you guys are Nick’s friends from back East… I dunno how good of a skier he’s considered back there, but he sucks out here. 🙂
But did Kenny land the 360? I agree…more chili and shots.
Yeah – he landed it
I am one of Nick’s friends from back East.
When he talks skiing, no one understands a word he is saying. We need a Cali Ski Bum to English dictionary.
Hiked back up the cliff? No helicopter? Pfft.
I’m bored. Where’s the Desolation report?
